Looking for something to drink, eat or a telephone? The community of Leland is situated on the eastern side of the Sicily Island Hills at the intersection of LA 8 and LA 913, where you will find a small store.

The nearest  pharmacies are in the villages of Sicily Island and Harrisonburg.

There are hospitals in Ferriday, Natchez and Winnsboro.

There are restaurants, small businesses and a bank in Sicily Island (about 4 miles from Leland)

There are bigger businesses in:

Harrisonburg (about 8 miles west of Leland)
Jonesville (about 18 miles south of Leland)
Ferriday (about  23 miles southeast of Leland)
Winnsboro (about 28 miles north of Leland)
Natchez, MS (about 35 miles southeast of Leland)

The nearest airports with regularly scheduled airline service are about 70 miles away in Alexandria and Monroe.

The Catahoula Parish Sheriff’s Department is in Harrisonburg and the telephone number is 318-744-5411.

Make sure you have a valid license or stamp issued by the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries when you visit the Sicily Island Hills Wildlife Management Area ! This applies for any activity on the WMA, and is not just for fishermen or hunters!
